Education and Training

OVERVIEW

The Education & Training Department was established in May 2016 with the aim of providing opporunities for employees and external healthcare professionals to enhance their skills by providing advanced educational activities. To create a high-fidelity immersive learning environment for clinicians.

The objective of this facility is to challenge Healthcare Professionals and maximize their potential while simultaneously improving patient safety and quality of care.

LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING CENTER (LSTC)
  • The aim of the training is to:
    • Continuously improve patient care and ultimately patient survival
    • Offer training to health care professionals to comply to the license requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
  • The Lifes Support Training Center (LSTC) offers training in resuscitative techniques and is accredited with the Saudi Heart Association (SHA).
Courses:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare and non-healthcare providers: 
    • Training reinforces the understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, using an AED, and the role of each link in the chain of survival.
  • First Aid Provider / CPR AED:
    • Video based, Instructor-led courses teach participants critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over.
    • The participants learn how to recognize, respond to and treat a variety of first aid emergencies, and perform CPR and use an (AED) in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
    • This course is highly recommended for industries that have to comply to stringent Health and Safety Standards in their field of work, such as gas or manufacturing. 
  • Heart Saver Provider CPR:
    • Designed for any person with little or no medical training who requires training on CPR/AED
    • We recommend that people in the community obtain this training. It has been proven that there is a 55% increase in survival rates for patients when they have been treated by a community member who is knowledgable of Heart Saver Provider principles. 
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP):
    • This course conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth
    • The aim of NRP is to facilitate effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery.
    • NRP utilizes a blended learning approach, which includes hands-on case-based simulations and debriefing that focus on critical leadership, communication and team-work skills. 
    •  The NRP course is done in partnership with Al Moosa Hospital.
